JOHNSON'S JOYFUL JEWELS

We have big plans to make this year a successful one.  Our 3rd and 4th grade class has twelve of the brightest students ever that are willing to work hard and try new opportunities.  Our school's theme this year comes from John 8:31b-32: "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."  We will be working to put these words into action, by caring for others in our school as well as around the world.

Throughout the year we will enjoy many hands-on experiences, beginning with an exciting unit on Oklahoma History, which will take us on field trips to the Cherokee Strip Regional Historical Center and Turkey Creek School.  Our big Cherokee Strip Celebration will involve the entire school as we gather in Glenwood Park to catch a glimpse of early pioneer spirit and statehood days.  Other field trips will include our monthly trips to Leonardo's for ArtSmart and our service projects that take us to the Living Center to share with our friends there.

To continue our service, we will collect pop tops to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House and through an all-school effort, we will help to support the project "Kids Against Hunger", in which we will contribute to packing meals for children in Haiti.

Every day we take new steps in our acdemic challenges improving our reading and math skills.  This year we will strengthen these skills by using the online program, Study Island.  Doing our best in all areas pays off and gives us a chance to learn in many ways.

It is our passion to work together and live in God's commands.

Growing in Him as we labor for His Kingdom,
Mrs. Johnson
